Ceremonial Tea Bowls

I was honored in 2003.  A collector of my work gifted
one of my tea bowls to the Japanese Emperor on the occasion of his birthday.

The Japanese tea ceremony is a transcendent art form that
blends culture, taste, hospitality, respect, tradition, and discipline
with a sense of Zen.

The Japanese style ceremonial tea bowl is the vessel that is
honored to hold the tea during the ceremony.
The true beauty of a great tea bowl is a balance of many things that,
when done well, seem so simple and yet so wonderful.

The classic dark warmth of a Temmoku glaze
has been a favorite of serious tea connoisseurs
throughout the centuries.

The raku white-crackle glaze is also another favorite for tea lovers.
